Walk-through
Explore

At the beginning of the game you will have some "Colonizer" ships. You need to send those ships out to explore to find solar systems to colonize. Do this by touching on a ship to select it, touching the navigation button on the right of the screen, then touching a location on the screen to send the ship to.

Build an extractor

Energy is needed to power your colonies. Without it they will shut down and stop collecting resources. You need to find a star on which to build an extractor. When you are in "map" view (where you see solar systems) all you need to do is "long touch" a solar system and you will zoom into solar system view of that solar system. Then you can long touch the star to see its information. If you decide to build an extractor on that star simply touch the "Build" button at the bottom of the screen. To find out which stars produce the most energy for the construction cost see the information about stars.

Colonize planets

Colonies support your military population and collect minerals and water. Building colonies is similar to extractors except it is on planets. Long touch a solar system to zoom in and then long touch on a planet to analyze it and decide if you want to colonize.

Expand

You should attempt to expand to as many solar systems as possible as quickly as possible. Systems you have colonized can't be colonized by your opponent until they build a fleet and destroy all of your colonies in that solar system. Even just colonizing one planet will prevent your opponents from collecting any resources in that solar system until they take it from you.

Build ship yard

After you have a reasonable sized civilization you will need to build your military. Ship yards are where you build your military ships. To build a ship yard you need to be zoomed in on a solar system that you have colonized. Touch the ship yard button at the bottom left of the screen. A dialog will open providing you with information about the costs of building and maintaining a ship yard.

Build Fleets

When construction has finished on your ship yard an empty fleet will be created for you. Long touch the fleet or touch the button for that new fleet at the top of the screen to manage the fleet. In the manage fleet dialog you can request ships to be built for the fleet, or transfer ships between fleets.

Attack

As soon as a fleet has enough ships in it you can send it to defend or attack solar systems by touching the fleet to select it, then touching the button on the right side of the screen, then touching the solar system they should attack/defend. The ships in the fleet will automatically attack opposing forces in a system when they enter it. After destroying all opposing forces and colonies you will want to colonize the solar system to hold it. You can only colonize solar systems that have not been attacked within the last 30 seconds.

Resources

Resources are required to keep civilization functioning. Each type of resource has a different purpose.

Energy

Energy is needed to power colonies, ship yards, and defense pylons. If there is not enough energy being produced then they will shut down.

Water

Water is required to run extractors and colonies and to keep your civilization alive. It is produced by colonies. The amount of water you can store is based on the size and quantity of your colonies. If you are not producing less water than you are using and your storage runs out your civilization will die.

Minerals

Minerals are required to build extractors, colonies, ship yards, defense pylons, and ships. They are produced by colonies. The amount of minerals you can store is based on the size and quantity of your colonies.

Stars

Build extractors on stars to collect energy to power your civilization. The construction cost and water usage will depend on the size of the star. The rate of energy produced will depend on the type and size of the star. (i.e Blue stars produce the most energy for the cost) You will need to make sure your colonies can produce enough water to support your extractors or your civilization will die from dehydration.

Class O

These stars produce the most energy.

Class F

These stars produce a large amount of energy.

Class K

These stars produce a medium amount of energy.

Class M

These stars produce a small amount of energy.

Planets

Build colonies on planets to produce minerals and water used to build and support your civilization. The construction cost and water usage of the colony is based on the size of the planet. The minerals and water produced, and military population supported by the colony is based on the size and type of the planet.

Terrestrial

These planets support the most military population for the size. They have a fair amount of water and minerals.

Hot Neptune

These planets support a small military population. They produce the most minerals, but almost no water.

Liquid

These planets support a good sized military population. They produce the most water, but not many minerals.

Gaseous

These planets support very little military population. They produce a small amount of water and almost no minerals.

Ships

Ships allow you to explore, colonize, attack, and defend. Different types of ships have different strengths.

Colonizer

Colonizers are used for exploring, colonizing, and deploying structures. They are automatically dispatched to deploy colonies and structures when you request them. They are very large and slow. They have weak laser weapons. At the beginning of each game you start with some of these.

Tank

Tanks are best for destroying colonies and structures. They are large and slow. They have large powerful plasma weapons. They work best in fleets grouped with fighter ships to protect them from other ships.

Fighter

Fighters are best at ship to ship combat. They are small and fast. They have weak laster weapons, but in large numbers can be effective. They work best in fleets grouped with tanks to attack opposing civilizations.

Structures

Structures like ship yards and defense pylons are necessary to maintain your civilization.

Ship Yard

Ship yards build ships when requested by fleets. They can only build one ship at a time, but can have several queued ships. They use a lot of water and energy and cost a lot of minerals to build.

Defense Pylons

Defense pylons defend solar systems from attack. After their construction is finished they will automatically fire upon any opposing forces in range. They use a lot of water and energy and cost a lot of minerals to build.
